Using the drone to spy on myself: my car is parked in Joshua Tree National Park on a windy day, as I control the drone to look inside my car. My goal was to capture the drone, its operator and what it was seeing at the same time. The video illustrates the habits of the drone, both its energized curiosity and its clumsiness. It strays from its path only to return again and again to the handle of the car door, which seems to be important, a portal perhaps to nonhuman space and nonhuman time. This video is part of my project, Black Mirror.
