The first of a series of poems addressed to my drone. They were composed by dictations to my iPhone, which serves as the drone’s remote control. Toy drones are a cunning way of habituating us to the widespread use of drones in the world, but the smart phone is a more effective and subtler way. These phones can see you, hear you, and track every movement. Many of us are already carrying them, undercover drones in our pockets.
