Shot during a participatory workshop interacting with a camera drone, a group of us see how far we can push the technology.  The drone seems both passive and active, reactive and perhaps confused. We have a strong desire to touch the drone, to insert our hands where they shouldn’t be.  Possibly the first human technology, the most primal one, is our hands. We will not be erased.

Drone Study #4 (Dance), video, 2:01, 2014

This video is part of my project, Black Mirror, which examines this depersonalizing technology in collective, public and intimate ways.  It was filmed outside the ASU Grant Street Studios in Phoenix, AZ, during a residency for the University of Arizona’s MFA art program.
